Magnum Ice Cream Cafe Opens in Gurney Paragon Mall Penang

Just in time for the Christmas and holiday season- Gurney Paragon Mall welcomes the first Magnum Ice Cream Cafe in Penang. The cafe unlocks unlimited opportunities for Ice Cream lovers to mix and match their favorite sweet treats with colorful condiments.  As a contrary to the normal belief, Magnum Cafe at Gurney Paragon, the cafe occupies a kiosk strategically located on Ground Floor of the mall, right in front of Pedro shoes and behind Miam Miam. For those who wish to stretch their shopping legs, there are a few tables and couches available. Apart from the fashionably decorated Magnum Ice Cream sticks, there are a few special items on offer as well... such as Ice Cream in a jar, Tiramisu, Ice Cream served with Cake etc... But given the hefty price tags, it shall only remain as an occasional sweet reward.

One of the best sellers- Black Forest... was pretty straight-forward. It was a mere Magnum Chocolate Ice Cream served with condiments like Wolf Berries, Marshmallows and Meringue-like cookie. It was a no-brainer... apart from Chocolaty and "sweet", we could not find other words to describe the concoction. 

We were intrigued by the presentation of Magnum Trifle- White Chocolate-dipped Vanilla Magnum served in a jar together with Cashew Meringue, Mascarpone Cream, Honey Balsamic Cream, Dried Raspberries and fresh Strawberries. We were taught to mix all ingredients together before we started to enjoy but the jar was perhaps, a little too small for our plump hands. The combination was alright and was perhaps, more suitable for those who prefer a creamier, Vanilla-like flavor in lieu of Chocolaty-dimension. It was again, way past my sugar tolerance level...
