Go Noodle House (有間麵館) @ Gurney Plaza, Penang.

An exceptionally popular and fairly casual noodle-specialist hailed from central Malaysia has recently expanded its business operations to Penand and has finally swung opened its doors to the public. Go Noodle House's first Penang branch is strategically located in Gurney Plaza (7th floor/ opposite to SenQ). Beelines of long queues have been spotted for the past few days. The brand has gained strong reputation in terms of quality and wallet-friendly price tags. Go Noodle House is also famed for its signature clear-soup noodles, finished with Chinese Wine. The no-frills restaurant offers a simple home-styled cooking menu that features two types of noodle dishes- Clear Soup and Pan Mee (available from Rm 9.90). We were certainly impressed with the food quality, but we thought their service level could be further improved (or perhaps, the restaurant is still new and the staff lacked of experience and training).

Premium Beef Noodles (Rm 14.70)

Fish Paste Noodles (Rm 10.50)

Set your tastebuds alight with the robust flavors of Go Noodle House's Three-Fresh Broth, we believed the aforementioned stock is cooked for hours to extract the flavors of the Seafood and Meat. Choose between Vermicelli Noodles or thick Rice Noodles; we found the latter option more appealing... the texture was more satisfying to the bite. On the seemingly bland broth, we were blown away for its multi-dimensional flavors. The seafood sweetness was bold and intense and their condiments such as Premium Beef slice, home-made Squid Balls and Fish Paste were all expertly executed. Adding further enjoyment to the slurplicious noodle-soup is a dangerously addictive and heat-inducing home-made Chili Paste. The spicy-intolerant should approach with caution.

Pan Mee (Rm 9.90)

Go Noodle House's Pan Mee was presented in a descontructed way- all condiments were served separately and we wondered if that was necessary (we had to put them back in the end). The texture was amazing, we love the al-denteness of the noodles; the thick Soy sauce was veering towards the sweeter side but the entire package was delectable. We enjoyed ours with their lip-burningly hot home-made Chili paste.
