The Daily Dose Cafe @ Stewart Lane, Georgetown, Penang.

With a name like "Daily Dose", it surely reminds us on the quintessential daily dosage of caffeine required to fuel energy for the day. The cafe is not new and has been receiving positive responses from the public. The interior decor suggests a touch of Nyonya but the menu proven otherwise. The offering is a mix of Western and Oriental dishes, we were surprised to see Sarawak Kolo Mee on the menu (but it was not available on our visit). The place can be a little warm in the afternoon so the best time to visit would probably in the morning. With an ambiance and setting like this, we'd see the place as the perfect spot to recharge and wind down over the weekend.

Scones (Rm 8/ 2 pieces)

French Toast (Rm 12)

Daily Dose Cafe proves to be a cafe that works for both brunch or afternoon tea. Their Scones come in pair... with a minimum order of two. We love the texture, slightly bready and remained as moist as it should be. They were lightly heated before serving to us. While we do enjoy the texture of the Scones, we thought they could be more generous with the Butter and Jam. We did not find their Butter and Jam spectacular, probably not those premium brands that we were expecting (no, not complaining for the price tag).

French Toast was made to order, it was a simple creation from Oatmeal Bread. The flavor was present but the texture was too fine and thin to our liking. It lacked of the thick but soft-fluffy bite but it was still alright. No Maple syrup, only Honey was served (sans the sweet Honey essence, purely sugary sweetness). A rather straight-forward dish but can be more refined.

Kiwi Smoothie (Rm 14)
