Habanero Mexican Dining @ Queensbay Mall, Penang.

Habanero, a type of Chili Pepper which can be easily seen in the country of Mexico. The name gives me an impression of both Spicy and Mexican Food. I was introduced by a friend of mine about this restaurant, she told me she loves it. Hence, I guess I would definitely make an impromptu visit to check it out. As such, I have visited this restaurant few days ago, it was a bit tricky to locate the place. You can find Habanero at the end of 3rd Floor North Wing of Queensbay Mall, Penang, where the previous Kamay was situated at. Do ask the information counter for more information should you have any problems in locating it. Anyway, Habanero offers Burritos and Tacos, both in a healthy way I'd say, as well as affordable prices too. The concept was somewhat similar to Subway, where diners can pick their desired fillings and make it a meal or just have it ala-carte. Diners will be then asked to choose their Chili Sauce which varies in a few different level of spiciness.

Burrito, as one of the most famous Mexican delicacies where some fillings will be wrapped using a piece of Tortilla. As for my visit, I had their Burrito Rallado Chicken (Rm 11.50) which wrapped with some Tomato Chili Mexican Rice. The Tortilla was first heated before wrapping the rice. Despite the fact that the Tortilla wrap was still okay (not too rough nor harden), I would definitely prefer it to be slightly warmer. Moreover, they should pay attention to their rice too, not the flavor as the rice was reasonably flavored but the texture itself. I was told that they were using Basmathi Rice but I just find it too dry and under-cooked to my liking. No doubt it tasted okay overall but there are still rooms of improvements.

I would definitely opt for their Tacos instead of Burritos, I was allowed to try three of their choices available but was charged under Taco Minced Beef (Rm 14). The fillings chosen were Parrilla Chicken, Camino Beef and Rallado Chicken. I did ask the waiter to have their three hottest Chili Sauce added onto my Tacos as well, they were Habanero (A natural blend between hot and sour, made from Green Habanero), Picante (Tangy Bell Pepper flavor, made from Red Jalapeno) and Cayenne (sour with a light Garlic taste, made from aged Cayenne). I adore their Tacos being crispy and light, with bunch of fresh greens added, it makes a very light meal/snack indeed. Among the fillings I have tasted, I would personally prefer Rallado Chicken for its Chicken Breast's meaty bite but my friend find their Beef was flavorful and savory to his liking. I'd recommend this mixed combination so that you can actually try and taste what is your most preferred fillings.
