Manila Place @ Gurney Plaza, Penang.

**This place has since ceased its operations. The same management is now operating Pit Stop Cafe*.

If you are pondering on where to get yourself a decent place to enjoy your lovely weekend breakfast, Manila Place at Gurney Plaza Penang might be an option for you. Located at new wing of Gurney Plaza (Ground Floor), right next to Dragon-I. Manila Place offers quality Western Cuisine as well as a very homely ambiance for their customers to dine in. As for this blog entry, I will have my focus on their Breakfast menu instead. Customers are more than welcome to choose their own favorite breakfast OR they can opt for the pre-fixed breakfast set listed on their menu. As for me, I had an enjoyable brunch with my family during the past weekend and I reckon I'll definitely come back for more (mainly due to their good value Breakfast set)!

A small glass of complimentary Fresh Orange juice and a cup of refillable Coffee/Tea will be given for every single order of their Breakfast Set.

Not only the Orange Juice and Coffee/Tea but the breakfast set includes this small bowl of breakfast Cereals as well (with milk), the cereals were something like Corn Flakes with some freshly cut Bananas and some Dried Raisins.

Penang Style Breakfast (Rm 9.90) comes with two Half-Boiled Eggs, some Bread together with some Kaya (Coconut Jam). The Kaya was smooth and sweet but due to its smoothness, I reckon that it should be obtained from those commercialized brands but not own-made instead. As for the Half-Boiled Eggs, they were at their perfect texture, just the right cooking time (not too raw nor over-cooked). A very traditional Penangite breakfast indeed.

My mom opted for this Sunrise Breakfast (Rm 14.90) which has an Omelette, some Deep Fried Potato Wedges and some Fresh Greens (dressed with Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil). The refreshing fresh greens gives a very good combination with the Omelette and what's better than an Omelette as breakfast? As for the wedges, they were okay and nothing special to shout over.

As for me, I've decided to go for their Healthy Breakfast (Rm 16.90) which should be served with Pita Bread, I had it replaced with usual White Bread instead since I was told that Pita Bread was unavailable during my visit. Similarly to Sunrise Breakfast, this set comes with a Chicken Sausage, Fresh Green Salad and some Deep Fried Potato Wedges, however, I find it weird that they have served me Deep Fried Potato Wedges despite the fact that I was ordering "Healthy Breakfast" and how does that healthy enough? Anyway, two thick slices of Chicken Ham were sandwiched in the Toasted White Bread and the toast was spread with Mayonnaise which brings some creaminess and moist to the sandwich. I'd say this was a pretty good sandwich in my opinion.
