The name "Mamagoose" should not be new to those who frequent Hin Bus Depot, the brand made its first appearance in the form of food truck but has since moved into a shop with proper restaurant setting. The brand specializing in Taiwanese delights has since garnered an appreciate following- with regulars keep returning for its Taiwanese Beef Noodles and Dumplings. The menu has slightly expanded- with more stir fry options available. Price points are mid-average but the above-par food quality and comfortable homey dining atmosphere (but does not seem to be able to accommodate big groups) are some of the good reasons why you should check out this place.
Poached Chicken in Chili Oil (Rm 18)
Both the signature Taiwanese Beef Noodles and Zha Jiang Noodles were delicious in their own ways- the former one comes with a clear Beef soup... Mamagoose's rendition was without additional toppings like the pickled vegetables or Radish, purely meat broth and generous cuts of meat. The broth was clean and easy on the palate, with a mild hint of spices. Zha Jiang Noodle's minced meat sauce was well-seasoned and we like the extra crunch- pickled Radish, julienned Cucumber and Carrot. The noodles used in both noodle dishes were the same and we liked the al-dente texture a lot. The side orders were equally great, we especially enjoyed the Dumplings in Chili Oil. The Dumplings had a firm, meaty texture with well-seasoned filling; the additional touch of Sze Chuan Pepper powder added the much-desired Ma-La flavor to the dish.

The food is not bad, but it is not authentic Taiwanese taste. Great service and handmade noodle is great.
