Peng Huat Koay Teow Th'ng (丙发果条汤) @ Sungai Petani, Kedah.

If you are heading to Sungai Petani town via the South Sungai Petani toll, chances of you passing by Peng Huat Koay Teow Th'ng (丙发果条汤) are high. The said Koay Teow Th'ng specialist occupies 2 prominent shop houses along the busy Jalan Kampung Baru and has since garnered an appreciate following since its opening. It does not only offer Koay Teow Th'ng but an array of side dishes that could go well-along; reasonable prices with huge serving portion... the type of comfort food that you can enjoy on a regular basis.

Koay Teow Th'ng (Rm 6/ large)

Dry Koay Teow (Rm 6/ large)

Fish Ball Soup (Rm 6)

Steamed Chicken (Rm 10/ medium)

Chicken Feet (Rm 4/ large)

Peng Huat's Koay Teow Th'ng broth was clear with minimalist seasoning... not the type of broth with heavy meat elements. It was refreshing and comforting at the same time, without much burden on the palate, though some would argue that the broth may be a little under-seasoned. Their home-made Fish Balls were decent either... bouncy but sans the unpleasant fishy taste. You can even buy them separately and bring back (for your own cooking). The Chicken and Chicken Feet were okay, nothing spectacular but good complementary dishes to go with your noodles.
