Mee 8 Cafe (食面八坊) @ Chai Leng Park, Perai, Penang.

Noodle lovers can make your way to Chai Leng Park, the food galore has just received a new addition- Mee 8 Cafe. The offering may seem similar to Pan Mee but its actually Dao Xiao Mian (knife-cut noodles); the noodle-specialist adopts a rather odd ordering system but if you are a new comer, there will be a dedicated server to assist you. The options are limited for mains but there are many combinations available when it comes side dishes; though serving portion is a little small, the price is of affordable range. Not too shabby if you are looking for a comfortable space that offers good variety of side dishes.

Original Dried Noodles (Rm 14.90/ set)

Specialty Spicy Soup Noodles (Rm 14.90/ set)

Mini Cocktail Sausages (top up Rm 2/ set)

Fish Ball Soup (included in the set)

Butterfly Pea Barley Drink (included in the set)

The Original Dried Noodles has a mix of minced Meat, soft-boiled Egg and Anchovies. The texture seemed to be a little softer than the usual Pan Mee and the seasoning was not as bold as we would have hoped. But the addition of their lip-burningly hot Chili flakes would spice things up. Specialty Spicy Soup Noodles on the other hand, reminds us of Tom Yum-flavored Pan Mee, though not that strong, the flavors were bolder than the original version. For sides, Mini Cocktail Sausages gave us a good impression, the texture was good and the smoky-factor was there; for an extra top up of Rm 2, we thought it was of good value.
