[Hotel Review] Royal Halong Hotel @ Ha Long, Vietnam.

With myriad of options available, it can be overwhelming just to decide where to stay at Ha Long. If you have a little more budget, you should definitely try out Royal Halong Hotel. Right smack in Bai Chai, the 5-star premium hotel is near to most tourist attractions and food outlets; the hotel has full-fledged facilities that would keep you occupied even if you decided not to step out the building. We stayed here for 2 nights during our visit to Ha Long and paid a little less than Rm 300 per night per room (promo rate). For what we received, we thought it was a pretty good deal.

Comfortable Beds

Complimentary Coffee/ Tea

Work Station

Bathroom

Amenities

The check-in process was smooth and efficient. Our baggage was carefully taken care of and the welcoming drinks were immediately served to us. The servers have been most polite, at least something that meet our expectations.

The standard room we got had everything we need- spacious, huge but comfortable beds, amenities and classy setting. There's also a work station for the workaholics.

Indoor Swimming Pool

Gym

Water Spa

Sauna

Shower Facility

Make Up Room

You know you would not be bored even if you had to stay in the hotel for whatever reasons. The hotel boasts over a range of facilities including Sauna, Water Spa, Indoor Swimming Pool as well as Hair Salon. You may first enjoy a dip at the pool, followed by a quick session in the Sauna and end with a hair treatment to pamper yourself. A pity that we did not have the luxury time to enjoy all these.

Entrance to the Casino

For entertainment, Royal Halong Hotel is the only hotel in Ha Long that carries gambling license. So if you are in the mood for a game or two, make your way to the Casino near the lobby. Do not expect a huge and busy casino but more than good enough to ease your itchy hands for a couple of hours. Smallest bet starts from USD 1 for table (Big/ Small) while Slots start from USD 0.01. The Casino is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Appetizers

Beef Salad

Japanese and Korean Condiments

Vietnamese Pho

Live Cooking Station

Meat Congee

For a relatively quieter town like Ha Long where breakfast options are limited, getting your breakfast settled within the hotel would be the most convenient option. If the hotel's Buffet Breakfast is not included in your package, you may purchase them separately at VND 320,000 (inclusive of 10% Service Charge and 5% VAT) per pax. The Buffet Breakfast features a vast range of items, ranging from International food to local Vietnamese delights. Notable items would be the Pho and Congee. Diners have the choice to add in their preferred condiments and customize accordingly.

Not to be missed would be the Vietnamese desserts, while they are not uncommon but since they are found in the buffet spread, why not?

  1. There are lots of great small hotels in Vietnam. I think it's part of the charm in staying there. You just have to find one that isn't too noisy.
