Feed Me Love (富米乐) @ Cecil Street, Georgetown, Penang.

The name- Feed Me Love does not necessarily ring a bell but it is in fact, a restaurant quietly opened in the heart of Georgetown that offers Taiwanese delights. This modern addition to the Taiwanese dining scene in Penang is rather unique; unlike most Taiwanese establishments in town, Feed Me Love only offers a few types of mains with literally no side orders. Items on offer are series of healthy Hot Pots, thick-long Noodles hailed from Tainan and some Rice dishes. It came to us as a surprise that the drink menu dominates more than half page of the menu; while most of them are Tea-focused, the selection is rather special and worth-trying. Affordably priced with comfortable dining atmosphere, this place is worth a look if you are game for something new (not the usual Taiwanese food you are getting).

Collagen Hot Pot 胶原蛋白锅 (Rm 29.90)

Chili Garlic Noody 一勺香干拌面 (Rm 8.90)

Spiced Egg 招牌卤蛋 (Rm 1.20 each)

Feed Me Love's Hot Pot series would satisfy any big eaters, the serving portion is huge with a basket of Hot Pot ingredients as well as a bowl of White Rice. We had the Collagen Hot Pot... the seemingly healthy broth was delicious with a mild vegetable-sweetness but we did not feel a strong presence of the protein (Collagen), as though we were having ordinary healthy Hot Pot broth. The basket of Hot Pot ingredients are fixed but diners have the option to choose between Pork or Chicken.

If you are not a fan of Hot Pot, go for their Noodles... which we were told that the noodles originated from Tainan. Similar to Pan Mee, the texture was a little thicker and chewier. We had Chili Garlic Noody, the Tainan-native Noodles were dressed in a special concoction imported from Taiwan... spicy, savory but with an alluring fragrance. The flavor was not as bold as expected so it's probably a good idea to enjoy the noodles with their Spiced Egg.

  2. Hot pot looks good but too bad the collagen taste not strong enough. The combo B seems a bit pricy though

  3. RM29.90 is for the hot pot + ingredients? From your photo, the ingredients basket was filled with mostly with veggies.
