Yolk Breakfast & Chill @ Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, Georgetown, Penang.

Recently converted to an all-day breakfast venture, Yolk Breakfast & Chill is a small neighborhood cafe that starts your day by offering simple, straight-forward brunch items. The hipsters would be glad to know that 'Magic Potion' is one of the proud creations of Yolk Breakfast & Chill. Previously Paper Pepper Cafe, Yolk Breakfast & Chill offers a small all-day breakfast menu but nothing too unusual or unique; rather, the focus should on their series of 'Magic Potion'. The concept is not new, it uses Butterfly Pea Flower Tea as the base and to mix with other liquid (such as Yogurt, Fruit Juice etc). While the prices are very competitive, we thought the food quality was somewhat less-impressive....

Yolk's Big Platter (Rm 12.90)

Chicken Ham Bagel (Rm 9.90)

The signature Big Platter consists of Bacon, Sausages, Sunny Side Up, Baked Beans, Hashbrown, Toasts and Chicken Ham. The Toast was a lackluster, it was too thin in texture and a tad too greasy to our liking (too much of butter spread). The Sunny Side Up was equally disappointing, one of which was under-cooked. There were too many processed food on the plate but I guess that's a norm of a price tag of Rm 12.90. The Chicken Ham Bagel shared the same Chicken Ham, a piece of salted meat sans the ham-smokiness. The only flavor here was the melted Cheese... it was alright but I guess one could easily replicate this at home.
