One of the greatest summer treats invented by the Japanese- Kakigori, a classic Japanese shaved ice dessert topped with flavored Syrup and condiments. With a name like Kakigori, this new establishment at Taman Paramount Petaling Jaya has wrestled its way out. It is now one of the most visited cafes in the neighborhood, particularly due to its Instagram-worthy sweet treats. The interior decor is simple, with some basic tables and seemingly flimsy chairs... a fun and young space it seems. But the cafe has a small menu... entirely dedicated to serving Kakigori (only a handful of choices though). Prices are standard-average but the service could be better improved, the place was packed to the brim with long queues waiting outside and as soon as we have finished the desserts, we were "politely" asked to leave our table. Not a space for chill out I suppose.

We had both Japanese Pumpkin with Burnt Caramel and Watermelon with Espuma; we thought the first option was better. The Pumpkin-flavor and sweetness was discernible, it worked well with the caramel that carried a sleek delightful charred aroma. The texture was fine and the concoction was overall, delectable. Watermelon on the other hand, was served with toothpaste Espuma, a Rose-essence infused foam. The flavor was somewhat "artificial" and we did not like that... at least not as much as compared to the previous choice. From what we hear, it seems like not all options are great over here, you just need to be careful on the flavors you are choosing. Happy food hunting!
