Cho Dong Jib's menu is a reminiscent of a family restaurant; the menu is consistently affordable and comforting... featuring the common Korean home-cooked dishes. The location is strategic, at Queens Street of Queensbay Mall; replacing the now defunct Taiwan Bull... targeting shoppers who want to have a comforting Korean family meal. Cho Dong Jib has 3 branches in Korea while the newly opened branch here at Queensbay Mall is the brand's first oversea branch. The entire restaurant is not big... a little cramped instead and the seats are not that comfortable either but the fact that Cho Dong Jib serves Korean home-cooked dishes and not too grill meat-focused, it can be a decent place for a quick fix.

Light eaters can go for their Kim Chi Stew... White Rice has to be ordered separately, it does not come with the Stew but instead, you may find some Korean Glass Noodles hidden in the hot pot. The soup was flavorful but skewed to the sweeter side. We'd prefer ours sour, backed by a spicy punch but the chili factor in Cho Dong Jib's was rather weak. The other dish we had was Jjagangmen, the dish did not manage to stand out. It was served together with the quintessential sweet and dark sauce but the flavor was flat... probably the toppings were weak. It has some Potatoes in it but that was all... with a halved Hard Boiled Egg. I'd probably go for something else for that price.

Cho Dong Jib's Glass Noodles were too greasy to our liking, though they have managed to cook everything well, we were not particularly impressed. Also, we thought it was a little overpriced for that portion. For a change, go for their Stir Fried Pork in Gochujang Sauce. While the greasy-issue persists, we agreed that the Meat was sufficiently marinated and the sweet and spicy Gochujang sauce went well with the Rice, with a touch of the shredded Dried Seaweed.

Don't ever want to go to that restaurant anymore. Those side dishes, can only be refilled once. Been to so many Korean restaurant, this is the only one that limit the refill.
