[Hotel Review] Novotel Platinum Bangkok, Thailand.

Many research studies have shown the significance of the location of a hotel; strategic location of your stay leads to many pluses. Located in the heartland of Bangkok, Thailand; Novotel Platinum is no doubt one of the best hotels that you can stay. Right next to the iconic Platinum Fashion Mall and a short walk from major shopping malls like Siam Square, Siam Paragon, Siam Centre Bangkok, the four-star hotel is reachable from any locations at Bangkok via BTS Chit Lom or Siam Station. Well-equipped with facilities, Novotel Platinum is the perfect lodging for your family-getaway at Bangkok.

Many Thanks to Novotel Platinum Bangkok for hosting us during our trip.

The hotel is tucked away from the bustling streets at Bangkok and is easily accessible from both international airports (directions to the hotel can be found on their official website: here). Should you wish to grab yourself some goods (be it groceries, souvenirs, snacks, local delicacies or food), there are all reachable within walking distance. The hassle-free shopping experience is however, a two-edged sword, make sure you are loaded with cash before your trip (I've warned you).

Very likely a controversial statement but if you are the kind of traveler who sees chilling out on the bed, watching television and surrounded by breath-taking city view is the best part of vacation; you might end up at the right place. The hotel's superior room is spacious with a comfortable double bed, a couch, flat TV, roomy shower room and toilet. The toilet is well-equipped with rainforest shower head and all toilet amenities needed for your travel. We were warmly greeted with a bowl of fresh fruits on the table as well. Check-in was super smooth for the few of us, it only took them a couple of minutes to have us registered.

In the fear of over-indulgence, the health-conscious can opt for an early workout session either at the hotel's Gym or a morning dip at the Infinity Pool. Both options were equally great; the former one has great equipment but it gets busy after 8 am. Gym members will throng the place so if you wish to workout, be there before 7: 30 am. The latter option is especially suitable for those who wish to relax themselves. If you so not wish to get yourself wet, you may opt for a drink to chill by the poolside. There is a bar, which opens from as early as 8 am and closes as late as 10 pm.

Reward yourself to a sumptuous buffet breakfast at their restaurant (The Square Restaurant at Level 6) which proffers a wide range of breakfast options; some notable items are their Charcoal Soft Roll, Pork Sausages, Bacon, Waffles and of course, local dishes like Pad Thai. Sunny Side Ups and Omelettes are available upon order and they are freshly made by the Chefs on duty.  Regardless of age, one will find their needs and wants at the restaurant.

Seafood lovers are not forsaken at Novotel Platinum, treat yourself to a glorious Seafood Buffet Lunch at The Square Restaurant- Surat Thani Oysters, Mussels, Alaskan King Crab (limited to ONE plate of crab per table), Salmon etc. The Seafood-themed Buffet Lunch not only features a vast selection of fresh Seafood but a wide array of international cuisine and local Thai delicacies as well. The aforesaid Buffet Lunch is only available on Saturdays and Sundays, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm at 849++ THB (or 1,000 THB nett); 1,500 THB nett otherwise for free flow of alcohol.

Alaskan King Crab was a palate-pleasure, it was meaty but bursting with sweet seafood juices. Equally delicious was Surat Thani Oysters, pair with their refreshing spicy sauce and it gives the foodgasm moment. Another must-try item will be their crispy Pork; it struck us with its shattering crisp, the perfect dish to satiate meat-lovers' appetite. We were also introduced to their range of sweet treats; the culinary team behind Novotel Platinum dishes out beyond-amazing Cheese Cakes, Mango Pudding and authentic Thai desserts like Taro in Coconut Milk and Thai Steamed Pumpkin Custard. True enough, the Cheese Cakes were nicely done- creamy, cheesy and not too sweetened but my personal recommendation would be their Taro in Coconut Milk, though a little sweet but the combination of Taro worked perfectly well with the creamy Coconut Milk.
