Indies Asian Fusion @ Tanjung Tokong, Penang.

The now defunct Hot Wok Nyonya Restaurant has turned into Indies Restaurant, business is brisk at the 24-hour Indian-Fusion restaurant and we are not surprised at all. Why? Ample parking space, wallet-pleasing price tags, air-conditioned dining hall, drive-through service and a wide variety of dishes to choose from; though service was a lackluster on our visit, we still see this place as a great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even light supper. Indies Asian Fusion is right next to Starbucks Drive-Thru at Tanjung Tokong.

Garlic Naan (Rm 3.50) comes in a huge portion, its thinner, greasier, probably crispier but not fluffier than Sri Ananda Bahwan's. It comes with three types of dips- Lentil Curry Sauce, Yogurt Mint Sauce and Thai Chili Sauce. We thought it was unusual for them to serve Thai Chili Sauce but nevermind on that, the other two were good enough. The set is good enough as a light meal on its own.

A more filling set- Chicken Banana Leaf Set (Rm 9.90) comes with three different types of Curries and a Chicken Curry, a complimentary sweeten Yogurt drink as well as a piece of crispy Papadum Cracker. My friend was not quite impressed with the quality though, he thought the Chicken was stale, dry and hard to the bite. One of the Curries was sweet, which he finds it unacceptable. The two of us prefer Passion of Kerala (at New World Park or Gelugor).

Ice Kacang (Rm 4.90)

Mango Lassi (Rm 3.80)
