Four Seasons Roasting Duck Restaurant (北苑海鲜酒家) @ Northbridge, WA.

Open as a "Yum Cha" outlet which serves Dim Sum in the morning, Four Seasons Roasting Duck Restaurant actually serves delicate and mouth-watering Roast Duck, Pork Ribs, Chicken etc on the afternoon and night time. We were not intended to visit this restaurant, we were heading to the rumored Good Fortune Roast Duck House (it's good they said) which strategically located at Chinatown of Perth- Northbridge. It was not our lucky day that the restaurant was closed (should have done some research first before I headed down to town), immediately, we searched for another alternative and we came across this restaurant, which located further down of the road (it requires a 5-minute walk). With disappointments, we went into this restaurant and to ease our hunger and craving for Roasted Duck.

Four Seasons Roasted Duck/ 明炉烧鸭 ( Half; For dine-in Aud $18, for take-away Aud $16). The duck was perfectly roasted, the meat was so juicy and tender, with a further complement of their specially made sweet sauce (with a hint of sourness), it was just good enough to satisfy our cravings. Marks will be deducted should the duck has any pungent smell but it did not, it was just as good as I thought it would be. The duck was a bit oily but it was all about the duck fats that brought out all the flavors and aroma. Simply irresistible, it was not a good time to count my calories I guess.

We also had their Beef Porridge/ 牛肉粥 for Aud $10. The portion was just okay (would be even better if the portion is bigger). It might look watery at first but a good stir would make things better. There were quite a number of beef slices added to the porridge. My friend thought that the porridge was too bland but it was perfectly okay for me. If you are looking for something light and guilt-free, this might be the dish that you are looking for.

Apart from that, we also had their Fried Sang Mee/ 炸生面 for Aud $12. It comes with a generous amount of Prawns and some fresh vegetables. The noodles were no doubt, very crispy and some crystal-like thicken broth was pour on top of these ingredients. The portion was quite large, however, this dish was a bit oily to my liking, particularly the noodles. It would be much better if they could drain the oil from the noodles for a longer period of time before they served it. The prawns were a bit too "un-natural" to me either, in terms of their crunchiness, it seems like they have been further processed to give them the extra crunchiness, lye water perhaps? Not too keen to find out.

  1. Not too expensive leh, I thought it would cost a bomb. :P

When I was a student, I didn't have money to spend on such good food. Eating a Mc burger also require me to save for a few weeks. :(
